Woman arrested after man found dead in Birmingham

Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was found dead at an address in Birmingham.

Officers were called to Merlin Walk, Castle Vale, around 1.10am this morning (20 October).

A 60-year-old man was found inside a house and was pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem will take place in due course.

A 52-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody for questioning.

A cordon is currently in place in Merlin Walk while enquiries are carried out.

Detective Inspector Caroline Corfield, from the force’s homicide team, said: "A man has sadly lost his life and we’re working to establish exactly what happened in the early hours of this morning.

"We’re carrying out house to house enquiries in the area but would urge anyone with information which can assist our investigation to come forward."
