A mum from Leicester whose 7-year-old daughter has severe epilepsy is joining families across the Country to call for medicinal cannabis to be prescribed on the NHS.

Samantha Fairlie is heading to Downing Street with nine other families to call on the Prime Minister to take action.

The Government agreed it could be prescribed back in November but that's yet to happen.

Samantha told us: “The seizures take away that quality of life, sufferers lose functions. She won’t talk, eat or drink.

These children with the intractable epilepsies, we need to give them quality of life.”

Letters are going to be handed in directly to Downing Street today to ask for help from the Prime Minister.

The action marks six months since they were last in the capital to meet Health Secretary Matt Hancock on the same subject.
