Man arrested following death outside Aberdeen high rise

Police say the body of a 37-year-old man was found yesterday afternoon.

A man has been arrested following the death of a man outside an Aberdeen high rise on Monday.

Police Scotland were made aware of "concern for a person" at Elphinestone Court in Tillydrone on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services attended and a 37-year-old man was found dead at the scene.

A man, also aged 37, has been arrested in connection with an assault.

Officers remain at the scene with a blue police tent erected outside the block of flats as officers carry out enquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of concern for a man at a property on Elphinstone Court in Aberdeen around 3.30pm on Monday January 15.

“Emergency services attended and a 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Another 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault and inquiries are ongoing.”
