Four appear in court charged with murder of Ayrshire woman Susan Turner

Four people charged with the murder of an Ayrshire woman have appeared in court today.

Police in Ayr were called to a flat on Nursery Hall in the Whitletts area of town on Monday 27 March. Upon entry they discovered the body of 41-year-old Susan Turner.

The death was initially treated as ‘unexplained’ but shortly after the area was cordoned off and forensic teams sweeped the area, a murder enquiry was launched.

On the morning of Tuesday 4 April, police arrested three people in connection with here murder, and later in the day arrested a fourth person.

All four have no been charged and faced court today.

Jason Bell, 49, Dee Black, 40, Michelle Ramage, 41, and Ryan Hill, 25 all appeared at Ayr Sheriff court today.

All four have been charged with the murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

The three in their 40’s were also charged in relation to the misuse of drugs act of 1971.

They each made no plea and will be kept in custody ahead of a further appearance next week.
