A car has been deliberately set on fire in Ayrshire, and police in the area are now seeking information.

Police are treating the incident as a wilful fireraising after they were called to the Portland Road area of Dalrymple yesterday.

It took place at around 12:05am on Tuesday 9 May.

There were no injuries, but police are now seeking whoever is responsible and say they’ll have more officers in the area this week.

Detective Sergeant Jamie Carruth said: “We’re asking for anyone with information, or who may have seen any suspicious activity nearby to please come forward.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.

“Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident 0034 of 9 May, 2023. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
