UPDATE 1800: Kilmarnock pensioner Archie Baillie has been found following an urgent police appeal.

The 78-year-old was reported missing from the Caprington area of the town.

No phone to contact family

In an appeal issued on Sunday afternoon Sergeant Lana Grant of Polices Scotland said: "Mr Baillie left his home this morning without mentioning where he was going which is unusual.

"He did not take his mobile phone with him, so no one has been able to get in touch with him so far, hence the concern for him.

CCTV checks

Officers were checking through CCTV pictures and going door to door and checking the local area for him.

A message released to the media at 6pm said Archie had been found and thanked everyone who responded to the appeal and shared the messages.
