A man hunt's underway for two men who assaulted a 15-year-old boy in an attempted robbery in Kilmarnock.

Police are appealing for information after the attack in the Onthank area around 5pm on Monday.

Officers say the victim was unhurt but shaken, and believe the two suspects may have threatened other people.

Detective Sergeant Steven Gray of Ayrshire CID said: “We are following a positive line of enquiry in relation to this incident.

“Our enquiries so far have revealed that the two men have been in a small van and have possibly threatened other members of the public in the area to obtain goods.

"We would like to hear from you if these men approached you. We are not aware that anyone has been injured.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 3889 of Monday, 1 May, 2023.”
