It's reported the fire service dealt with a fire inside a flat and that five vehicles had also been damaged.

Police were called to Octagon House in Nash Green, Hemel Hempstead shortly after 4.10am yesterday morning. (24/4)

Investigations are continuing, but it is currently believed that the fire may have been started deliberately.

Detective Inspector Adele Hopkin said:

“Thankfully no one was hurt during the incident, but it could easily have been a very different story. However, significant damage has been caused and has left the occupants of two further properties displaced from their homes while the structure of the building is assessed.

“We continue to work alongside the fire service to establish the circumstances around how the fire started, but we are currently treating it as an isolated incident.

“As part of our enquiries, we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward. Did you witness anyone acting suspiciously in the area during the early hours? Did you see any vehicles leaving the area around the time of the fire? Any information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, could assist us.”
