Aylesbury's MP has repeated his election hopes for the town.

Rob Butler has spoken about his hopes for Aylesbury moving forward, saying safety and sustainability are key areas he wants to address.

His first year in office has been overwhelmingly focused on the coronavirus pandemic, which has impacted nearly every avenue of life.

However, Rob Butler says it is important to look to the future for Aylesbury:

"One of my key aims, when I was being elected, was to make sure we had safe and sustainable communities and in my case make sure Aylesbury is one of those.

"The safe bit is making sure we clamp down on anti-social behaviour and things like drugs and the police have made some fantastic progress on that.

"I have been out and seen them working first-hand and the community boards that is chaired by Councillor Mark Winn is making fantastic progress.

"Now, the sustainable part is about making sure that after coronavirus we have a town the people want to live, work and invest in.

"That is very much about regeneration and attract big businesses and I am really pleased with the plans for Market Square and Kingsbury Square, as well as the Garden Town.

"I'm really optimistic that this year is going to show some real progress in terms of making Aylesbury a town that is really fit for the future."
