Buckinghamshire people have been asked about their biggest crime worries.

A survey has revealed that burglary is the top concern among residents in Buckinghamshire when it comes to crime.

A January survey by the Safer Buckinghamshire Board asked residents to share their biggest community safety issues.

The top crimes that people said were impacting them were:

Burglary

Fraud

Scams

Vehicle Crime

Superintendent for the Aylesbury Vale Area, Mike Loebenberg says they are aware of the impact crimes like burglary have:

"Burglary is a really impactful crime and one that we are absolutely focused on minimising the likelihood of people becoming a victim of.

"Over the last 5 years there has been a significant reduction in the rate of burglaries giving us the lowest rate in the Thames Valley."

The survey revealed that 60% of people in more deprived areas feel "very unsafe" alone at night.

Other top areas of concern related to anti-social behaviour:

Criminal Damage

Begging

Loitering

Superintendent Loebenberg explained they are working on these issues:

"We have put a real focus recently on listening to our communities and ensuring that our neighbourhood policing response is really focused on those types of behaviour that cause the greatest harm.

"Both in terms of a local focus as well as wider town centres for example."
