Earthquake in Aylesbury

Reports of houses being shaken in Buckinghamshire this morning (Tues).

There was an earthquake in Aylesbury this morning (Tues).

Lots of people have reported houses and desks shaking at around 9.45am.

This was a 3.6 magnitude quake 10km below the surface.

It was felt as far as Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes.

Belinda lives on Broughton:

"It felt like I had wobbled side-to-side and the ornaments rattled.

"In fact it felt like I had gone quite dizzy.

"I have just seen some of the neighbours going outside talking to each other to see if they had felt it.

"It's all a bit disorientating."

Neil told us:

"I was working in my study at home when I felt the whole room shake.

"I didn't know what it was, but thought it might have been the neighbour bumping something against the wall.

"My wife, who was in the other room, didn't feel a thing!"

Bucks Fire & Rescue say they have had 999 calls in response to the quake, but no real incidents to note.
