The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the River Thame and Chalgrove Brook.

They say flooding is possible from Marsworth to Dorchester, including Long Marston, Rowsham, North Aylesbury, Cuddington, Thame, Shabbington, Ickford, Waterperry, Cuddesdon, Wheatley, Quarrendon, Drayton St Leonard, Overy, the Chalgrove Brook at Chalgrove and Stadhampton.

But, property flooding is not expected.

It comes as river levels have risen on the River Thame after heavy rainfall yesterday (18 June).

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service received more than 30 calls to flooding incidents before 2pm yesterday.

They were mainly in Bletchley, Buckingham, Wing and Wingrave.

The Environment Agency said flooding of low-lying land, footpaths and roads is "imminent", especially in the Thame area.

Although some more rain is forecast over the next 24 hours, totals will be low.

The public body added they expect river levels to continue rising through today (19 June) and are "closely monitoring the situation".

Incident response staff are in the area checking key areas at greatest flood risk.

The Environment Agency is urging people to be aware of their surroundings and avoid contact with flood water.
