£15 food vouchers given to school children in Buckinghamshire
Those eligible for free school meals are getting extra help
Children eligible for free school meals are getting help through half term in Buckinghamshire.
The Council is providing £15 digital food vouchers, as part of their Helping Hand scheme.
Funded by the Government's Local Support Grant, the vouchers can be used at Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer Food or Aldi.
The council has sent a letter to relevant parents and carers, via schools, to give them the details of how to claim and activate the £15 digital food voucher.
Councillor Anita Cranmer, Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services said:
"We would like to say a huge thank you to all our schools who have been supporting families over the summer term.
"It's been a tough time for families as we gradually come out of lockdown, but our schools are not only providing them with a superb education but the extra back up they need."
Steve Bowles, Cabinet Member for Communities added:
"Our Helping Hand team continue to be available to direct people to the support that is right for them.
"This may be from the voluntary or community sector or direct from the council.
