Large fire at High Wycombe industrial estate

Locals have reported clouds of black smoke coming from the area

There are a reports of an explosion at High Wycombe's industrial estate this afternoon.

Emergency services are currently dealing with a large fire at the Cressex Industrial Estate in High Wycombe.

Locals have shared videos and pictures of large clouds of black smoke coming from a building on Lincoln Road.

Bucks Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed the building involved is a single-storey building used as a warehouse and offices.

The fire department and Thames Valley Police are on the scene and no injuries have been reported.

Residents of Deeds Grove, High Wycombe are advised to close windows and doors due to smoke.

They're asking members of the public to stay away from the area and find alternative routes through High Wycombe.

Road closures and cordons are in place around the estate.

The fire service has confirmed sixteen appliances and crews from Buckinghamshire, Royal Berkshire and Oxfordshire and nine officers have attended.

They have also had more than 100 999 calls.

Group Commander Paul Scanes, from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, who is at the scene said:

"The fire and rescue service was called at 1.40pm to a commercial property fire.

"On arrival, crews were confronted by a well-developed fire which was spreading to surrounding buildings.

"Crews from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service have been working in hot and arduous conditions in a multi-service approach with Oxfordshire and Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Services to bring the fire under control.

"Our advice is to avoid the area and keep doors and windows closed.

"Firefighters will be at the scene for a considerable amount of time.

"Thankfully no-one has been injured."
