Aylesbury's MP has tweeted earlier to say: Firefighters are still at the King's in Stokenchurch, but the blaze is now considered to be under control. It was a very serious fire but thankfully, no casualties reported. An investigation into the cause is underway. Very grateful to all involved in dealing with this emergency.

Located in the Chiltern Hills area of outstanding natural beauty the hotel is a popular hotel and wedding venue that has welcomed guests for over 350 years.

As firefighters worked through the night, local business Coffee on the Green provided free food and drinks to the emergency crews from a number of local stations including Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

At this stage it is not clear how or why the fire started.
