Man charged with murder following stabbing in Milton Keynes

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been charged with murder in Milton Keynes.

The force was called to reports of a stabbing outside a property in The Hide, Netherfield, on Monday 28 March.

Police officers attended the scene, where a man had sustained stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene, as well as at Milton Keynes University Hospital, but sadly died on Tuesday (29 March).

The victim was later identified as Joseph Tayaye, aged 21, from Milton Keynes.

Officers say his next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers.

In relation to the death of Joseph Tayaye, Oluwatomiwa Tomi Olatuyi, aged 20, of Stanton Avenue, Milton Keynes has been charged with one count of murder, one count of possession of a bladed article and one count of perverting the course of justice.

Olatuyi has also been charged with one count of affray and a second count of possession of a bladed article in relation to a separate incident in Milton Keynes on 26 March 2022.

Olatuyi has been remanded in custody to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday 5 April).

He was arrested in connection with the investigation on Friday (1 April).
