Milton Keynes officially granted city status
A formal presentation took place at the Council Chambers on Wednesday

Milton Keynes has now officially gained its long-awaited city status after a service at the Council Chambers last night.
A formal presentation involved members of the local government as well as residents celebrating the area's bolstered gravitas.
One of those in attendance was the City's Major, Amanda Marlow, who said it's been a long time coming:
"I think it will bring everything to Milton Kynes. I think we will see growth and prosperity that we haven't seen before."
"I think it will bring more people here too."
"It's just going to make Milton Keynes stand out head and shoulders above other towns and cities around here."
"It just means so much to the people of Milton Keynes to be able to have this."
