Up to £9 million could be spent on redeveloping the Winslow Centre.

Buckinghamshire Council have released around £800,000 to develop initial plans to rework the area, which includes the town's library.

Housing and offices will be built on the site, whilst sports facilities will move.

When plans to demolish part of the site were announced, they were met with a lot of opposition in the town.

At the moment, there is the library, the space used for the Sir Thomas Fremantle School and sports facilities.

Bucks Council are moving forward plans for the site.

In a report looked at by Bucks Council's cabinet this week, officers said:

"Significant amounts of due diligence and engagement with the Local Community has already been undertaken and the proposed scheme of a mixture of housing and community/ sports facilities are deemed viable...

"The Council has successfully completed or have planned the first phases of the project which include demolition of the School, surrender and re-grant of a lease at Redfield Farm to enable re-located sports facilities, and early master planning, Town Council engagement, soft market testing and viability testing.

"All these work streams have reached a stage where further investment is needed to progress the scheme, secure Planning and thereby create further value."

Proposals include extra care facilities, a new library and offices, plus housing on the plot.

Then, as mentioned above, sports facilities will be moved to Redfield Farm.
