Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a sexual assault in Letchworth Garden City.

The incident occurred at around 6.30pm on Wednesday 7 February, when it is reported that two teenage girls were walking along Radburn Way.

When they reached the junction with Chatterton, it is reported that they were approached by a woman who stopped to have a conversation before kissing them both on the hand and face without their consent. She then left the area on her blue bicycle, which is described as having an orange seat and a basket on the front.

The suspect is described as being a white woman with long, dark brown hair and aged in her fifties. She was seen wearing a pink beanie hat, baggy clothes and a long, dark trench coat.

PC Daniel Hayes, who is investigating, said: “I understand that the nature of this incident is concerning, and the two victims continue to be supported by officers.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have information to please get in touch. Were you in the area at the time and saw what happened, or recognise the suspect from the description? Please email me with any information, no matter how small or insignificant you think the details you have may be.”
