An Aylesbury volunteer has launched a virtual book club for anyone to join.

To goal of 'Zoom Book Club', launched by a volunteer at Aylesbury Vineyard Storehouse, is to connect people with a secondary focus on the book.

Launched through the Vineyard's Connect Group, it is one of many options for people in the area to join.

Sally says its about more than reading:

"The books we are hoping to choose will take you away from where you are.

"So the one we are reading at the moment is Elizabeth Gifford:_Secrets of the Sea House._There are beaches and wild mountains and things, and hopefully that is enought o take people somewhere other than their front room."

As well as allow people to connected and bond over the books this allows local people to support local shops and businesses.

Sally says if people can support a local bookshop while taking part that is even better:

"Even before lockdown the book stores were being hit quite badly with the rise of online sales. There is nothing quite so delightful as a good browse in a bookshop.

"So many of them now are able to have you order and deliver them for you as well which is nice."
