Woman scares off potential thieves in Aston Clinton

Two men have been arrested after an incident on Sunday (27/9).

Two men have been arrested after an attempted theft from a car in Aston Clinton.

It happened sometime between 10.45pm and 11pm on Sunday (27/9).

A woman heard a noise outside the front of her property on Waring Crescent and saw two men opening her car door and leaning inside.

The victim banged on her window and the two men ran away.

Nothing was stolen from inside the vehicle.

The men were wearing all black and wore face coverings.

Staff investigator Hannah Mitchell based at Aylesbury police station said:

“I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to please get in touch.

“Likewise if you have any CCTV or dash-cam footage that shows anything from the area at the time that might help our investigation.

“The men were later found with some property which may have been taken from another vehicle, so I urge people to check their vehicles for any signs of tampering or missing property.

A 28-year-old man from High Wycombe and a 24-year-old man from Chesham were arrested on suspicion of theft from a vehicle and have been released on bail until 21 October.
