A man has been charged with shoplifting after items worth more than £1,600 were stolen from stores in Andover.

Lee Oak, 43, of Andover Road, Ludgershall, was charged with seven counts of theft from a shop and breaching a criminal behaviour order.

It comes after items worth £1,672.60 were stolen from TK Maxx, Co-op and Boots in Andover between 27 February and 14 April.

The stolen items included handbags, clothes, alcohol and a charity donation bucket containing an unknown amount of cash.

Oak appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday 16 April and pleaded guilty to all charges.

He was remanded into custody and is next due to appear at the same court on Tuesday 7 May.
