Six arrested in connection with poaching in west Berkshire

Incidents were reported in mid-January around Hungerford & Lambourn

Thames Valley Police has made six arrests in connection with incidents of hare coursing in Hungerford.

The arrests are in connection with incidents in Churchwood Wickham, Hungerford Hill, and nearby at Shefford Woodlands, Lambourn, shortly before 3.30pm on Saturday 16 January in which groups of males with lurcher dogs were reported to be acting suspiciously in the area.

Five men, aged 21, 24, 25, 27, and 46 all from Cardiff, South Wales, were arrested on suspicion of day time trespass in pursuit of game – poaching and were released on police bail until 7 February while the investigation continues.

A 16-year-old boy, also from Cardiff, was arrested on suspicion of the same offence, and was released under investigation.
