Fire and rescue workers at Basingstoke fire station have made a direct appeal to motorists to drive safely.

In a twitter and facebook post they said that since the start of the new year they'd attended 11 traffic collisions - four of which had been critical.

They appealed to motorists to keep to speed limits, not to drive under the influence of drink or drugs and not to become distracted.
