Basingstoke station re-opens after security alert
The station was closed for several hours this morning
Basingstoke railway station has now re-opened after it was closed for around three hours this morning.
British Transport Police confirmed they received reports of a suspicious package earlier this morning.
Specialist officers were sent to assess the item, which was eventually confirmed as non-suspicious.
SWR posted to say that lines were re-opened at 1130am but said there'd be continuing disruption as trains returned to normal services.
