On Saturday morning (20 April), police responded to reports that a body had been discovered near Sonning Bridge.

Emergency services recovered a man's body from the water.

Police believe it is the body of 39-year-old Daniel who was last seen in the Caversham area on 4 March.

Chief Inspector Rob Platt says his thoughts are with Daniel's family.

“Sadly we have today discovered the body of a man.

“From our enquiries we believe the man recovered from the water is missing person Daniel.

“Daniel's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

“Our thoughts remain with them at this very difficult time.

“Our enquiries are ongoing but the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course.”
