Police have arrested a man in relation to an ongoing kidnapping investigation in Bracknell.

A 20-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping on Monday (20/2). He has since been released on police bail.

The arrest relates to an incident at around 7.30pm on Saturday 27 January when four offenders attacked a man in his twenties on an e-scooter in Martins Lane.

The offenders then tried to force him into the boot of their dark-coloured Audi saloon car but fortunately, a member of the public intervened.

The victim suffered minor bruising and swelling but did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Jonathan Greenlaw said:

“We are continuing to investigate this concerning but targeted incident and have made an arrest.

“If you saw or know anything related to this incident, or you have any relevant footage, and you haven’t already contacted police, I would urge you to please do so as soon as possible.

“I would also encourage people to please continue to let police know of any concerns of criminal activity in the area.

“We need reports from the public to help build our intelligence so we can respond proportionately.

“Witnesses and those with information can get in touch by calling 101 or by visiting our website, quoting reference number 43240041954.

“Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
