A man is due in court to face an allegation of dangerous driving following reports of drifting (skidding) at a car meet in Basingstoke.

Police received reports that cars had gathered at an unauthorised car meet on Stroudley Road on Friday 11 August last year.

Officers launched an investigation and gathered CCTV images from local businesses to help build a picture of what happened.

It is alleged that a motorist in a blue BMW was drifting on the road and driving in a dangerous manner.

After working with businesses and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Police were able to gather evidence and a man is due in court next week.

Jack Coyne, 29, of Church Road, Ewell, Surrey, will face a charge of driving a motor vehicle dangerously at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 20 February following postal requisition.
