Nicholas Heavingham spotted driving while banned
A man has been jailed for driving whilst disqualified in Reading.
Nicholas Heavingham, aged 33, of Newtown Road, Newbury, pleaded guilty to one count of driving whilst disqualified at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (25/1).
At the same hearing, he was sentenced to 23 weeks in prison, disqualified from driving for an additional year and ordered to pay fines of £239.
At around 1.20pm on Wednesday (24/1), Heavingham was seen driving a Range Rover Evoque on the A4 Bath Road.
He was known to be disqualified from driving at the time.
Heavingham was arrested and charged on the same day.
Investigating officer PC Christopher Harrison, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said:
“Nicholas Heavingham continues to drive despite being disqualified.
“Heavingham’s conviction shows we will always seek to stop, arrest and prosecute people who choose to drive whilst disqualified.
“The sentence Heavingham received reflects the serious and dangerous nature of his offending.”
