90 firefighters tackle fire at thatched cottage north west of Andover
The A338 was closed for 14 hours

A huge blaze broke out in a thatched cottage on the A338 near Andover yesterday with crews from Hampshire and Berkshire helping Wiltshire firefighters.
They were called to the detached property - which used to be a police station - on the High Street in Collingbourne Ducis at 4pm after the blaze erupted in the roof.
At the height of the fire 18 crews numbering nearly 90 firefighters attended.
The aerial ladder platfrom from Salisbury and water carriers from Andover and Ramsbury were also sent.
The blaze affected 60% of the thatched roof** but firefighters managed to prevent it from from spreading further.
No-one was injured and crews also managed to save the owner's valuables.
ROAD CLOSURE
The A338 had to be closed overnight to enable crews to deal with the incident, it was reopened at 6am this morning.
Locals were also told to keep their doors and windows closed.
Fire-fighters remain on the scene this morning.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
