A gas leak is still affecting trains between Andover and Salisbury this morning (18 April).

Around seventy five people were evacuated from their homes last night (17 April) due to the leak in Salisbury.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue say it was caused by someone digging and rupturing a gas pipe in the city.

South Western Railway say all lines are blocked due as a result.

Train services running through Andover and Salisbury may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 2:30pm.

SWR say train services running between Basingstoke - Salisbury may be diverted via Southampton where possible.

A fast rail replacement bus service was introduced on Thursday lunchtime linking Basingstoke, Andover and Salisbury.
