Police appeal for help to identify man found dead near Andover

He was discovered on the railway line in the early hours of Monday morning

Detectives are urgently appealing for information to identify a man who died following an incident on the line near Andover.

At 1.12am on Monday 15 August, officers were called to the line close to Monxton following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended, however a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious, but despite extensive enquiries officers have been unable to identify the man and trace his family to inform them of this sad news.

Description

The man was found wearing blue jeans with a brown belt and a dark blue t-shirt. He was wearing Clarks shoes, size 10, and has brown hair which is grey at the roots.
