Man shot at with suspected air rifle in Basingstoke

The victim was injured by a pellet as he was walking through the town centre.

Police are now looking for any CCTV or Dashcam footage after a man was injured in Basingstoke.

On Friday evening (11th June), the 23 year old victim was walking towards the old SSE building on Winchester Road when he was assaulted.

It's suspected he was hit by a pellet which came from an air rifle, between 10 and 10.30 pm.

He sustained a minor injury to his elbow.

Police want to hear from anyone who might have seen or heard anything suspicious at the time.

They would, however, like to reassure the public that they believe this is an isolated incident with no wider risk to the community.
