Two boys arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving in west Reading

Two people have been arrested with the help of the Police helicopter in west Reading this lunchtime.

Thames Valley Police is are now appealing for witnesses to dangerous driving in Reading town centre and surrounding roads.

Police say between around 11am and 1.30pm today (21/1) a white motorbike was being driven dangerously around the town with a pillion passenger also on board.

Following a pursuit with the assistance of the National Police Air Service (NPAS) two young males, a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy, were both arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle dangerously and remain in police custody at this time.

Investigating officer PC Matthew Hurst, based at Reading police station, said:

“This pursuit was brought to a safe conclusion and two young males have been arrested.

“However, I am appealing to anybody who was in the area of Reading town centre today between 11am and 1.30pm and believe that they witnessed this incident to please contact Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference number 43210027363.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who has dash-cam, CCTV or mobile phone footage of the incident, or anybody who took any photographs.

“If you have any of these, please get in touch with police.
