Flowers continue to be left at Windsor Castle

One week on from the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, floral tributes continue to be left at Windsor Castle.

All the flowers, cards and messages that are being left, are being taken inside the grounds every evening, with a sign saying that all notes are being collected and kept for the Royal Family.

Cuddly toys and children's drawings are also dotted in amongst the flowers and touching messages have been left. One reads 'Thank you ma'am, for your selfless duty and commitment, your wisdom and your sparkle', with another saying 'When I grow up I want to be a Queen's Guard'.

There is also an increased police presence in and around Windsor, with extra security measures in place ahead of the committal service of the late Sovereign on Monday (19 September).

Queen Elizabeth II passed away at Balmoral Castle on Thursday 8 September, at the age of 96.
