Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed they are in talks to buy Reading FC's training ground at Bearwood Park near Shinfield.

The local rivals said it fits with their vision of the future.

Reading football club have also confirmed the news saying in a statement the sale would support the short-term funding of the club until a full-sale could be concluded.

However, the 50 million pound facility was seen as the jewel in the crown of the assets available to a potential new owner of Reading football club and Reading fans have reacted with anger to the news that owner Dai Yongge has decided to sell it off separately.

It means any new owner would now face a substantial outlay to build a new facility. It also puts into question how in the short term Reading can maintain their elite academy which has produced so many talented young players.
