Reading fans give seal of approval to new shirt design
The club has gone retro to mark one of the greatest days in their history
Reading fans have been praising the club's new away shirt.
It's a replica of the shirt worn on 27 March 1988 when the club won the Simod Cup with a 4-1 victory over Luton at Wembley Stadium.
Present-day Academy manager Michael Gilkes became the first Reading player to score at Wembley on a day that still burns brightly in the memories of older fans.
Luton at the time were a first division or modern-day Premier league side and Reading played in the second division.
The club launched the retro shirt with players trying out eighties games and tech.
The shirt is deliberately looking back to fit in with the club's 150th anniversary season.
Fans won't have to wait long to wear it as the Royals start the season away at Stoke on Saturday.
