Police make Reading murder arrests

On Wednesday last week, a murder investigation was launched following reports of a road traffic collision between a cyclist and a vehicle on Addington Road, near to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit has made eight arrests in connection with a murder in Reading.

A 24-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of murder this morning (19/2).

Seven men, aged 20, 21, 24, 27, 31, 41 and 48, all from Reading, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender this morning. All remain in police custody.

On Wednesday, a murder investigation was launched following reports of a road traffic collision between a cyclist and a vehicle on Addington Road, at the junction of Cadugan Place.

The cyclist, 36-year-old Vignesh Raman, was sadly declared deceased at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin, of the Major Crime Unit said:

“Our thoughts remain with the family of Mr Raman, who are being supported by specially trained officers.

“We are continuing our investigation into the circumstances of his death, and arrests have now been made.
