Reading Football Club's new manager Veljko Paunović has taken his first training session at Bearwood Park.

Since the team returned from Portugal last season he's been in quarantine.

He was officially unveiled by the club posing for pictures and giving his first public interview to the club's communications team.

He was joined by two new members of staff former Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune who joins the club as First Team Coach, and Nuno Gomes who will be assistant first team coach.

Fortune played alongside Paunovic at Atlético Madrid in the early part of their professional careers but is better known in the UK for seven years spent at Old Trafford.

And it is from Manchester United that Fortune arrives in RG2 – having played 126 times under Sir Alex Ferguson, he completed his UEFA A Licence and last season assisted Neil Wood as a coach with United’s Under-23s.

On the pitch, Fortune played at the highest level – he featured in three Premier League-winning sides and an FA Cup Final during his time at United. On the international scene, Quinton was capped 46 times by South Africa, representing his nation in two World Cups in 1998 and 2002 and in an African Cup of Nations Final against Egypt.

Now he leaves Old Trafford’s youth set-up to join Veljko’s coaching team at the Madejski, where he links up with former United teammate John O’Shea as part of the Royals’ first team set up.
