This summer Thames Valley Police (TVP) will open its doors to the public for the force Open Day.

The event will take place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 2 September and will be hosted at the training centre in Sulhamstead, near Reading.

The Roads Policing Unit, Forensic Investigations Unit, Contact Management team and Major Crime Unit are just a handful of over 40 exhibitors who will be there to showcase their work.

There will also be displays from the Public Order team, including the Mounted Section and Dog Section as well as talks from key members of the force.

The force museum and shop will be open, as well as a raffle with more great prizes.

All proceeds from the event from the public’s donations will be given to the Curtis Palmer Program charity which helps serving and retired officers and staff with physical injury, illness and mental wellbeing.

Deputy Chief Constable Ben Snuggs, said:

“We are delighted to welcome you to our first Force Open Day for four years. We have a range of displays to showcase the great work our teams do every day and plenty of activities for you to get involved in. This is a great opportunity to gain an insight in to policing, meet our officers, staff and volunteers and, above all, have some fun!”

Bags will be permitted on site but should be no bigger than A4 size. Entrance to the site is free and last entry will be 3.30pm for a 4pm event close.
