Van driver killed in crash near Reading

It happened on the A4074 near Dorchester

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision at Berinsfield just north of Reading.

The incident occurred at around 8.45pm on Wednesday (3/1) on the A4074, when a Mercedes van driving from the Berinsfield roundabout in the direction of Dorchester, left the road and collided with a tree.

The driver of the van, a man in his forties tragically died at the scene.

Investigating officer, PS James Mathews said:

“This collision occurred yesterday evening, and very sadly, as a result, a man has died.

“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision, or may have been driving in the area and has dash-cam footage of the incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“The man’s next of kin have been notified and are being supported by officers. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”
