Water supply disruption in west Reading

Thames Water set up emergency bottled water stations and say 'we're really sorry'

Published 6th Oct 2020

The areas affected were RG30 and RG31 but not all properties reported problems.

Last night Thames Water said "We’re really sorry if you have no water or low pressure. Our engineers are working hard to get supplies back to normal as quickly as possible.

"We’re experiencing a high number of calls at the moment, so please only call us if it’s an emergency. Rest assured we’re doing all we can to resolve the issue."

The company set up bottled water stations at Stadium Way, Reading, and The Triangle, Tilehurst, but they closed by 9pm. They issued a statement saying they were carefully monitoring the situation overnight and into the morning.

They added that they were aware it was happening at an especially difficult time due to coronavirus.

No information was given on the Thames Water Twitter feed but a service update was posted on the company's website: https://www.thameswater.co.uk/network-latest/rg2-06102020
