Two seriously injured in Windsor castle crash

Police reveal details 24 hours after crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury collision road traffic collision in Windsor.

The incident occurred at around 7.50am yesterday (12/3) on Thames Street, Windsor, outside the Theatre Royal.

A blue Polestar vehicle has collided with a parked Vauxhall combo van, where two workers have been unloading items from the rear.

The impact has caused the van to move forward and collide into the rear of a Nissan van.

The Polestar has come to rest against the boundary wall of Windsor Castle.

The driver and two children in the Polestar were taken to hospital with minor injuries, they have since been discharged.

The two workers were taken to John Radcliffe hospital and have serious injuries. They remain there at this time.

No arrests have been made.

Investigating officer PC Mark Zilles, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said:

“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.

“Additionally, we’d ask any motorists with dash-cams who were in the local area around the time of the incident to check footage in case they may have captured something that could help our investigation. You can submit footage to our dedicated online portal.
