Thousands of people are descending on Weston Park as Camp Bestival Shropshire returns for a second year.

The family festival combines live music, children's entertainment and wellbeing activities and attracts people of all ages from across the country.

Kicking off today (18 August), the event will see the likes of The Human League, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Melanie C, and Sam Ryder all performing.

For younger festival goers, there'll be performances from Mr Tumble and The Cuban Brothers, Dick and Dom, Mister Maker, and Horrible Histories.

Last year was the first Camp Bestival Shropshire, and organisers are hoping this year's event builds on the success of its launch.

Camp Bestival curator Rob da Bank said: "We're definitely building on what we established in the first year. We've almost doubled our sales from last year.

"Hopefully lots of people coming back from last year, and a whole new gang too. we've rejigged the site and made it even better. Just can't wait to open the gates."

The festival is designed specifically for families, attracting thousand from across the country and even Europe.

Rob added: "We have a huge audience of 4-9 year-old kids, but also teens here, grandparents in their 70s and 80s.

"Aside from the music, there's everything from wellness through to arts and crafts, to extreme mountain biking. The name of the game really is to try and tick every box for every age group, which is impossible, but we try!"
