A fundraising page, set up online, has raised thousands since it was started for the family of Shakur Pinnock.

The 20-year-old e-scooter rider suffered a serious head injury in the collision with a car in Prestwood Road last Saturday (12 June) and passed away in hospital on Friday (18 June).

19-year-old Chante Hoosang, who was a passenger on the e-scooter and Shakur's girlfriend, was also seriously hurt and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The fundraising page has raised almost £4000 and will go towards Shakur's memorial funds and Chante's rehabilitation.

Chante's Aunt Emma Murphy spoke to us about setting up the page:

"Both families are truly grateful for the care Shak and Chante received at the scene, from members of the public, paramedics, police, doctors and the Air Ambulance team and also the team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

"We can't thank you enough.

"I set the target for the fundraising at £4000 and to be honest, I am suprised and truly humbled by the response the page has receieved so far.

"Every penny really does make a difference to both families.

"I want to ask people to keep sharing, keep commenting and if they can, donating.

"I know these funds will make a massive difference to everyone involved in this awful tragedy."

Police say the driver of the VW Golf involved in the collision remained at the scene and was not arrested and continues to help with the investigation into the circumstances of this "tragic incident".
