A1 closed southbound near Scotland-England border following 'horrific' crash

The A1 has been closed southbound, near the Scotland-England border, following reports of an "horrific" crash in what's been described as "atrocious weather conditions".
Emergency services raced to the scene, just north of Berwick, after the alarm was raised around 7pm tonight (Thursday).
And motorists were urged to avoid the area.
One eyewitness said: "I think I was the first to call 999 a few seconds after it must have happened - it was so unexpected that I’d passed it before fully appreciating what I'd seen.
"It was an extremely dangerous situation so I applaud those who saw it in advance and had the wherewithal to think and bravery to act. I really hope those involved are okay."
