A court in the Borders has heard how a woman was forced to lock herself in a bathroom after being repeatedly punched on the head by another woman while live-streaming online.

Natalie Bain admitted carrying out the assault at an address in Cockburnspath in January, after a viewer alerted police.

The 30-year-old's victim had asked her to stop before breaking down in tears and fleeing the room.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court heard it was the second offence Bain had been convicted of involving the same woman.

In October, Bain pled guilty to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour after threatening to kill the woman during another live-stream.

Sentence on that matter was deferred after the court heard her victim had not been supportive of the prosecution and that the couple were in a relationship.

But Bain pled guilty to two assaults when she returned to court today (Tuesday).

As well as punching her victim, she also admitted "drawing blood" from a police officer - by lashing out with her arms and scratching him - when he tried to place her in handcuffs.

Sentence has been deferred at Jedburgh Sheriff Court until May 7th for a background report.
