A new trial date has been set in the case of two teenagers accused of stealing electrical goods and beauty products from Boots in Galashiels.

Charlie Ward, 19, and Martin Mcdonagh, 18, from Leicester, are alleged to have committed the theft at the town's Gala Water Retail Park, in Huddersfield Street, on May 12th, last year.

McDonagh is further accused of driving dangerously - and without insurance - between neighbouring Greenbank Street and Croft Street, by failing to give way at a junction and colliding with a van.

He's alleged to have committed the offence without a qualified driver, or displaying L plates, while only holding a provisional licence.

Ward is further accused of allowing McDonagh to drive the vehicle without insurance.

And both are charged with failing to identify the driver after it was allegedly involved in an incident around 5pm that day.

Ward and Mcdonagh maintained their not guilty pleas when the case called at Selkirk Sheriff Court today (Tuesday), and the case was continued to trial on August 10th.
