A car with a number of "distinctive features" has been stolen from an address in the Borders overnight.

Thieves targeted the VW Golf R estate – registration number LG16 PKE - outside a property in Cadden Haugh, Clovenfords, near Galashiels.

The vehicle, which has an adjustable suspension, 19in Pretoria alloy wheels, and a limited edition all black Thule bike rack, was taken sometime between 10pm on Monday, February 19th and 7.30am this morning.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, or CCTV footage, from the area to contact them.

It's not the first vehicle to be stolen from the village in recent years.

In February 2019, one of three cars stolen from a house in Clovenfords was later used during a robbery at a community store in East Lothian.

An Audi and a Volvo were also stolen during a break-in at a house in nearby Stow in August last year.

Referring to the latest incident, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Anyone who saw anything suspicious or has seen the vehicle then please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0540 of Tuesday, 20 February, 2024."
