Woman left shaken after being robbed by man in Earlston

A woman's been left "shaken and alarmed" after being robbed of medication and cigarettes in Earlston.

The 33-year-old was walking on a path near Thornfield Cresent when she was approached by a man, who grabbed her arm and searched her pockets, before forcibly taking her bag.

It happened in the Scottish Borders town between 10pm and 10.30pm on Wednesday, January 24th.

Police are appealing to the public for help to catch the culprit.

He's described as white, around 6ft in height, of medium build, with brown hair, and was wearing a black cap and black hooded top.

Detective Constable Liam Myers, of Police Scotland, said: “The woman was left very shaken by the incident and it is vital that we establish the full circumstances of what happened and trace the man responsible.

“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen or heard anything that could help with our enquiries.

“Anyone with private CCTV, doorbell footage or dash-cam, particularly in the Summerfield, Everest Road, Gun Road and Gun Avenue areas, is also asked to get in touch.”
